Bigfoot is a playable character or an AI enemy in BIGFOOT.

Summary

Only one player can play as Bigfoot in a Team VS Player match. Team VS AI and Player VS AI both use an AI Bigfoot.

As an AI, Bigfoot can attack during the night. He can't attack during the day, although you can still damage him. If Bigfoot is controlled by a player however, he can attack at any time, although it is wiser to attack during the night because of the 20% damage resistance. Since the first night starts almost immediately, you will not have much power to attack.

Bigfoot's health and damage depend on the settings chosen before starting the round. Additionally, his health depends on the game mode and the amount of players.

As a player, Bigfoot has a power bar that allows him to attack. There is practically nothing you can do to damage a hunter when you don't have power, so the only option is to run and recharge. Because of the night time damage resistance, it is recommended to recharge during the day (both passively and by eating) and attacking at night or when your power reaches the maximum of 75.

AI Bigfoot sometimes knocks on trees, which does not indicate his location. Howls, however, do. To let you know that Bigfoot is nearby, your flashlight will flicker and a fight theme will play until Bigfoot leaves.

Abilities

Both as an AI and as a player Bigfoot has the following abilities:

  • [Left Click] - Melee attack
  • [Left Click](hold) - Charged melee attack (does same damage as normal melee, but costs twice the power)
  • [Right Click] - Ready ranged weapon throw (press left click to throw)
  • [X] Rage - Attacks deal more damage for a short amount of time.
  • [C] Howl - Used to get a general direction as to where players are, indicated by a dark red splotch that lasts for a few seconds. Be careful when using this during the day, as well-prepared players can hear you, and might decide to track you down. It is unknown whether howl helps AI Bigfoot find you, or if it only serves the purpose of revealing his location.
  • [R] Furious throw - Bigfoot slams the player to the ground.
  • [Q] Savage hits - Bigfoot attacks the player multiple times. If one of these hits downs the player, more damage can be dealt from subsequent hits after an immediate heal.
  • [F] Ram run - Bigfoot automatically runs forward at a faster speed, hitting anyone in his path and not stopping until the ability runs out.
  • [E] Fatality - Used to kill downed players. Requires Bigfoot to have downed a player 3 times already, indicated by the three blood drops. [edit and expand this if you have a better knowledge of the fatality ability]
  • [Z] Trap - Ability to build a trap underneath trees. Note: Snare traps are the only traps Bigfoot can build. Falling tree and rockslide traps are natural. AI Bigfoot usually places these along paths, although he doesn't necessarily have to have visited that location for a trap to be there. Players can escape the trap by pressing the right key in a quick-time event and will only suffer minor fall damage. If the wrong key or no key is pressed, the player suffers a longer stun and takes much more damage. Additionally, as of April of 2023, the default trap key is bugged, you must rebind it to anything but the default key for it to work, although when trying to use it you must still press the default key to activate it despite the rebind.
  • [Passive] +20% Night damage resist - Bigfoot takes 20% less damage during the night
  • [Passive] Track scent - Bigfoot can find scents left by hunters, animals, and trash. Press [G] to avoid losing the trail. AI Bigfoot solely relies on sight and sound to find the hunters.

Bigfoot Health

There are multiple factors that determine how much health Bigfoot has. Bigfoot's health bar is only shown once he has taken damage. The dark gray bar indicates how much of his health Bigfoot is capable of regenerating. Bigfoot takes 20% less damage during nighttime due to the +20% Night damage resist buff. Bigfoot heals 45 health when consuming an animal and 6 from eating small piles of trash. AI Bigfoot heals 45hp at random points, without needing to be at a dead animal, and cannot eat trash or meat from barbeques.

Tips for Player-controlled Bigfoot

  • "Tricks" given to the player-controlled Bigfoot at the start of the game:
    • Eat food and animals to replenish health and strength
    • You are stronger at night, use it to your advantage
    • Use items like melee weapons and set traps for effective fighting
    • Use your predator sense to hunt down prey
  • The "predator sense" can be activated with [G] when a player, animal, or food is nearby. It is used to lock on to the source, as long as it is in range
  • Bears do 5 damage to player Bigfoot per hit. Throw signs at it to avoid losing power while attacking (no longer works as of 4.4)
  • Eating an animal recharges 5 power and heals 45 health
